The need for sincere and focused practice
"Didn't the Sayadaw teach that
If you practice with real fear (of saṃsāra) and genuine effort in the morning,You'll get results by evening,And if you practice in the evening,You'll get results by morning? But now, this kind of fear is not present,You understand? Think about it.Even when listening to Dhamma recordings,It feels like the recording isn't real DhammaBefore the recording even ends, you're already leaving, understand?Going here and there - isn't this worth examining?Yes, isn't this worth investigating? You need to have spiritual urgency (saṃvega) from the start of practice.Isn't this worth studying? These are the essential points. You need to understand the benefits and drawbacks.Doesn't the teaching say that when you know the truth, the false disappears?"
