CH25: Vocabulary (Pāli ↔ English) with DO Placement

At-a-glance: Teacher Pack • Words you’ll teach, mapped to the wheel

A. Definition & place in DO

  • A classroom glossary aligned to SN 12.1 (forward/cessation chain) and SN 12.2 (per-link definitions/enumerations).

  • Each entry shows where it sits on the four periods (Past Cause / Present Effect / Present Cause / Future Effect) and, where useful, its round (Kilesa / Kamma / Vipāka).

  • Terms use Pāli diacritics; no Burmese script in body text.

  • Built for quick call-and-response, card sorts, and exit tickets.

B. Mechanism (how to use this glossary)

  • Teach in clusters (links together; then rounds; then truths).

  • When a term appears in multiple roles (e.g., vedanā as both part of nāma and its own link), the “Where in DO” cell clarifies context.

  • Use “Example” for door-based cues and “Mnemonic” to speed recall.

C. Practice (micro-drills, 1–3 minutes)

  1. Door→Term Flash (90 sec): Teacher shows a picture/sound; learners shout the door and the first link that follows (e.g., “ear—phassavedanā”).

  2. Place the Term (2 min): Hold up a term card; class calls its period and round (“upādāna — Present Cause, Kilesa”).

  3. C2 Spotter (1–2 min): Any vedanā word is followed by the chorus: “Vedanā → Taṇhā—pause!”
