"Venerable Ones, we, your disciples, have faith in the Triple Gem (Buddha, Dhamma, Sangha), the Three Aspects of the Teaching, kamma (actions), and their results.
In accordance with our faith, now, in your presence, we have properly undertaken the Three Refuges and the Five Precepts.
We offer these requisites and various items with devotion and faith. We do this to support and propagate the Buddha's teachings.
Through this merit, may we swiftly reach Nibbana, where all suffering ceases.
During this time, may we understand the Dhamma thoroughly, from now until we attain Nibbana.
We share the merits of these good deeds with all beings - humans, devas, and brahmas. May all beings who rejoice in the Dhamma appreciate these merits.
Venerable Ones, we share the portion of merit from this Dhamma offering (as it is said that "The gift of Dhamma excels all gifts") with:
- Our mothers and fathers
- Our teachers
- This assembly of Dhamma listeners
- The rulers of land and water
- The King of Death (Yama)
- Guardian deities of body, home, monastery, Dhamma hall
- Earth deities, tree deities, space deities
- Forest guardians, mountain guardians
- Village guardians, city guardians
- Guardians of the Buddha's teachings
- The Four Great Kings and all beings in the 31 planes of existence
May they receive these merits equally with us.
May they be happy in body and mind.
May they be joyful and glad.
Let us share these merits with all beings for their happiness.
Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu! (Well done! Well done! Well done!)"
