True Buddha Worship and the Path to Inner Transformation
"Don't people in our villages and towns invite Buddha images to their homes for worship? Yes, they do.
Now, don't you have Buddha images in your homes? Yes. Don't you offer food? Don't you offer flowers?Yet, in these homes with Buddha images, don't couples still quarrel? Don't parents and children still fight?#It's_not_proper_to_quarrel_in_front_of_the_Buddha. Think about it. Hmm, think carefully. Why do people invite Buddha images?'We argue frequently as husband and wife. Let's invite a Buddha image. Maybe it will help reduce our conflicts.' Isn't this worth examining?#Isn't_it_worth_paying_attention_to_this? This is how we should contemplate. Study this way. Isn't this worth investigating? Think deeply about this.Read the books written by Namma Sayadaw too. People show no respect to the Buddha image in their homes, but they travel to this city and that city for pilgrimage. Do you hear that? Isn't this worth considering?#There_is_only_one_Buddha. Hmm, isn't this worth studying? After returning from pilgrimages, what actually becomes peaceful? What decreases?Do defilements increase or decrease? Think about it. Isn't this worth contemplating?#If_defilements_increase_that's_not_progress_at_all.Study this aspect too.Consciousness sees conventional truth (sammuti sacca).Wisdom sees ultimate truth (paramattha sacca).Isn't this worth examining?Study this thoroughly."
