“Conception, Renunciation, Turning of the Dhamma Wheel, and the First Display of Supernormal Powers”

On the Full Moon Day of Waso, the Blessed One performed four great acts:

  • He entered the mother’s womb with mindfulness and clear comprehension (Paṭisandhi – conception).

  • He renounced the worldly life to strive toward Buddhahood (Renunciation).

  • He delivered the First Discourse — the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta — to the group of five ascetics (Pañcavaggiyas).

  • He performed the first display of supernormal powers (Yamakapāṭihāriya) at the White Mango Grove near Sāvatthī to inspire the faithful assembly of the Fourfold Saṅgha.

Pāli Verse:

"Bahūpakārā kho pana me pañcavaggiyā bhikkhū, ye maṃ padhānapahitattam upaṭṭhahiṃsu. Yaṃ nūnāhaṃ pañcavaggiyānaṃ bhikkhūnaṃ paṭhamaṃ dhammaṃ deseyyaṃ."

Meaning:

“The group of five monks rendered me great service, for they attended to me with devotion while I was earnestly engaged in striving for Enlightenment. So, it would be well if I were to teach them the Dhamma first.”

The five ascetics (pañcavaggiyas) had served the Bodhisatta faithfully, offering assistance and care during his ascetic practices even before he attained Enlightenment. Out of gratitude and proper timing, the Buddha chose them as the first recipients of his Dhamma.

Therefore, on this sacred Full Moon Day of Waso, may devoted Buddhists around the world mindfully reflect upon these profound events and strive ever more diligently in the meritorious acts of generosity (dāna), morality (sīla), and mental cultivation (bhāvanā).

Let us all:

  • Visit the Mahābodhi Tree, where the Buddha attained Enlightenment, to honor the sacred site.

  • Recite and pay homage through the Dhammacakkappavattana Sutta and the Paṭṭhāna Desanā.

  • Support and contribute to occasions that uphold these meritorious traditions.

May all donors and devotees who assist and support such sacred observances receive a share in this noble merit.

Let us all rejoice and call out joyfully

"ធាតុធារណញ្ច រក្ខណសម្មតិ បញ្ញាបនំ សត្ថុ ធាតុយោ បរិស្សាវនំ បដិជាននំ
សព្ពេសំ សត្តានំ - មនុស្សានញ្ច ទេវតានញ្ច, រូបិនោ អរូបិនោ ច - អញ្ជលី បគ្គយ្ហ សុណន្តុ.
ឥទានិ, ឥមស្មិំ ធម្មរក្ខណកាលេ, បាបកម្មានំ ឧព្ពេគេន ច ធាតូនំ ឧបទ្ទវេន បីឡិយមានេ, អហំ - យោហំ សត្ថុ ធាតូនំ មានុស-ធាតុធារកោ, សព្ពចិត្តេន ឥមំ សច្ចវចនំ បកាសយាមិ."
"ធាតុយោ អបរាធំ បដិច្ច, ទេវតានំ យក្ខានញ្ច រក្ខាបដិបត្តិំ យាចាមិ.
យថា បុព្ពេ, ចាតុមហារាជិកទេវា, យក្ខគណា, ចេតិយទេវតា ច សត្ថុ ធាតុយោ រក្ខិំសុ, ឯវំ-ឥទានិ បិ, តុម្ហាកំ ករណីយំ បតិបជ្ជថ.
អាបទាយ ធាតូនំ, មាកំ រក្ខាយ, កាលមាបជ្ជិត្វា អកាលចរិតានំ បុរតោ ទុក្ករំ អកាសិំសុ. ឥទានិ, តុម្ហេ អប្បដិវាណា ហុត្វា ធាតុយោ រក្ខថ."
"ធាតុយោ អបរាធំ ករោន្តា - យថារូបំ វា អនារូបំ វា - សព្ពំ អបរាធំ បដិវិជ្ឈន្តុ.
យេសំ ចេតសា វា កាយេន វា វាចាយ វា, ធាតុយោ ឧបឃាតំ ករោន្តិ, តេ មា បមាទា មោចយន្តុ. ធម្មេន ទេវតានំ អធិការោ ឯត្ថ វត្តតិ."
អហំ, មានុសធាតុធារកោ, មម រក្ខាបដិបត្តិំ បុនប្បុនំ បកាសយាមិ.
ភគវតោ ធាតុយោ សព្ពប្បការតោ រក្ខិស្សាមិ, ធម្មេន, វិនយេន, សមចិត្តេន ច.
អនុពុទ្ធានញ្ច ឱវាទេ ឋត្វា, ឥមំ ធម្មានុធម្មំ ធារេន្តោ, អបរិមាណំ ហិតសុខំ ជនេស្សាមិ.
ឯស មេ សច្ចវចនោ ញាតិបញ្ញត្តិ, ទេវតានំ សកលទស្សនំ ហោតុ.
ភគវតោ, ធម្មសង្ឃស្ស ច រក្ខា សទា ជយតុ.
សត្ថុ ធាតុយោ ទីឃាយុកំ បាលេតុ - ឥធ លោកេ អនាគតេ ច.

সব্বেসং সত্তানং - মনুস্সানঞ্চ দেৰতানঞ্চ, রূপিনো অরূপিনো চ - অঞ্জলী পগ্গয্হ সুণন্তু.

ইদানি, ইমস্মিং ধম্মরক্খণকালে, পাপকম্মানং উব্বেগেন চ ধাতূনং উপদ্দৰেন পীল়িযমানে, অহং - যোহং সত্থু ধাতূনং মানুস-ধাতুধারকো, সব্বচিত্তেন ইমং সচ্চৰচনং পকাসযামি."

"ধাতুযো অপরাধং পটিচ্চ, দেৰতানং যক্খানঞ্চ রক্খাপটিপত্তিং যাচামি.
যথা পুব্বে, চাতুমহারাজিকদেৰা, যক্খগণা, চেতিযদেৰতা চ সত্থু ধাতুযো রক্খিংসু, এৰং-ইদানি পি, তুম্হাকং করণীযং পতিপজ্জথ.
আপদায ধাতূনং, মাকং রক্খায, কালমাপজ্জিত্ৰা অকালচরিতানং পুরতো দুক্করং অকাসিংসু. ইদানি, তুম্হে অপ্পটিৰাণা হুত্ৰা ধাতুযো রক্খথ."

"ধাতুযো অপরাধং করোন্তা - যথারূপং ৰা অনারূপং ৰা - সব্বং অপরাধং পটিৰিজ্ঝন্তু.
যেসং চেতসা ৰা কাযেন ৰা ৰাচায ৰা, ধাতুযো উপঘাতং করোন্তি, তে মা পমাদা মোচযন্তু. ধম্মেন দেৰতানং অধিকারো এত্থ ৰত্ততি."

অহং, মানুসধাতুধারকো, মম রক্খাপটিপত্তিং পুনপ্পুনং পকাসযামি.
ভগৰতো ধাতুযো সব্বপ্পকারতো রক্খিস্সামি, ধম্মেন, ৰিনযেন, সমচিত্তেন চ.
অনুবুদ্ধানঞ্চ ওৰাদে ঠত্ৰা, ইমং ধম্মানুধম্মং ধারেন্তো, অপরিমাণং হিতসুখং জনেস্সামি.

এস মে সচ্চৰচনো ঞাতিপঞ্ঞত্তি, দেৰতানং সকলদস্সনং হোতু.
ভগৰতো, ধম্মসঙ্ঘস্স চ রক্খা সদা জযতু.
সত্থু ধাতুযো দীঘাযুকং পালেতু - ইধ লোকে অনাগতে চ.

Comprehensive Statement on the Discovery and Research of Buddha Relics

Recent scholarly research has unveiled a significant array of relics associated with the life, death, and cremation of the Lord Buddha. Despite these discoveries, detailed records of specific stupas housing these relics remain limited, with only 120 stupas documented to contain such sacred items. The types of relics identified include:

  • Tooth Relics
  • Bone Relics
  • Fragments of Bone Relics
  • Nails
  • Hair Relics
  • Pieces of Cremated Remains
  • Relics from the Buddha's Cremation
  • Blood Relics
  • Ashes
  • Relics Found at the Buddha's Burial Site
  • Bowl
  • Robes
  • Walking Stick
  • Footprint

A notable finding from this research is the absence of bone relics exceeding two inches in size within the documented records and archaeological excavations. Buddhist relics, some as small as sesame seeds, have been discovered in ancient stupas. However, it is important to highlight that confirmed discoveries of Buddha bone relics exceeding two inches have been venerated in Myanmar, a finding absent from prior research involving 120 articles and books consulted. This underscores the need for further comprehensive studies to document and preserve these significant relics.

In addition to the primary relics, smaller items such as gold fragments, pearl-like objects, and other minute pieces associated with relics have been found. These are rare and typically located in specific stupas, yet records detailing the exact locations of these relics remain scarce.

Among the main categories of relics discovered, some notable examples include:
  • Personal Items of Prince Siddhartha Gautama: Earrings, rings, and other daily-use items believed to have belonged to the Buddha during his lifetime.

  • Relics Acquired During the Buddha's Lifetime, including:

    • Tooth relics (broken teeth)
    • Nails
    • Blood-stained relics, collected at the time of the Buddha's passing and noted to remain pure without any impurity.
  • Relics from the Buddha's Cremation, such as bones, teeth, and other materials preserved as part of the cremation rituals.

  • The Buddha's Bowl, a sacred object used by the Buddha for alms collection.

  • The Buddha's Robes, worn by the Buddha during his monastic life and considered highly revered objects.

  • The Buddha's Walking Stick, a simple yet profound symbol of the Buddha's journey through his life and teachings.

  • The Buddha's Footprint, believed to be a mark left by the Buddha as a sign of his presence, which has become an object of veneration and a symbol of his enlightened path.


Historical records and excavations from ancient cities like Peshawar and other notable regions have documented the existence of these relics, linking them to significant historical events and places of worship.

In modern times, relics of the Buddha have been preserved in museums in Britain, Paris, and other Western countries, where they are displayed to the public. Similarly, relics currently housed in Myanmar and India continue to be revered and preserved, reflecting the ongoing importance of these sacred items in both historical and contemporary Buddhist practices.

A particularly momentous discovery is the unearthing of the Broken Front Tooth Relics of the Lord Buddha. According to the Mahāparinibbāna Sutta, following the Buddha's passing and cremation, four tooth relics were preserved. Two of these relics were enshrined in mythological realms—Trāyastriṃśa Heaven and the domain of the Nāgarāja—while the other two were kept in earthly locations: Gandhāra and Kaliṅga.

The King and Princess's office, confirmed by Thura Kyaw, called the letters "forgeries."

Introduction

In response to recent allegations from the chief spokesperson at Buckingham Palace, AP News Agency reporter Deepa reached out regarding the authenticity of letters allegedly from King Charles and Princess Alexandra’s office. The letters, which purportedly confirmed the authentication of Buddha tooth relics through DNA and Carbon-14 testing, have been identified as "forgeries." Furthermore, it has been clarified that King Charles did not commission any such examination.




Hswagata recently Review on  received two letters allegedly from the offices of King Charles and Princess Alexandra, provided by Mr. Aung Bhone Pyae. However, after a thorough investigation, including confirmation from the official spokespersons of the Royal Palace in England and an interview with Mr. Thura Kyaw regarding his awareness and verification of these letters, it has been determined that these documents are forgeries. Consequently, Hswagata officially declares that the letters created by Mr. Aung Bhone Pyae are fake.



To address these claims, I conducted an interview with Mr. Thura Kyaw, a former senior member of HGT. Mr. Kyaw had been involved in providing the DNA and Carbon-14 testing data related to the relics. Given the controversy, Mr. Kyaw’s insights are critical in understanding the origin of the letters and the associated relics. Below is the interview transcript, shedding light on his role and perspective regarding these events.


Interview with Mr. Thura Kyaw

Q1: When did you conduct the DNA and Carbon-14 testing?
Answer: In June or July of 2022, I conducted the DNA testing.

Q2: When did you receive the DNA test results?
Answer: In October 2022, I received the confirmation of the DNA test results.

Q3: How many Buddha tooth relics were donated to Naga Cave?
Answer: One Buddha tooth relic was donated to Naga Cave by me.

Q4: How many tooth relics did you send to England, and what other relics were included?
Answer: I sent five tooth relics, along with hair, bone fragments, ashes, and other relics, to a trusted individual who would deliver them to England.

Q5: When did you receive the report on the DNA and Carbon-14 testing results?
Answer: I received the report on the DNA and Carbon-14 testing results in October 2022.

Q6: Did you receive any written report or documentation?
Answer: The individual provided me with an oral description and explanation of the report.


Q7: I just heard from 
AP News Agency reporter Deepa reached out the chief spokesperson at Buckingham Palace that the letters addressed to Mr. Aung Bhone Pyae and yourself, reportedly from King Charles and Princess Alexandra's office, have been identified as "forgeries." What is your response?

Answer: Mr. Pyae Toe Aung, also known as Aung Bhone Pyae, once told me that he intended to create forged letters. In response, I advised him against it, emphasizing that in this digital age, such actions could easily be discovered through the internet. This was his reaction to my advice.

Q8: It has also been clarified that King Charles did not commission the authentication of your relics. What is your response to this?
Answer: When the individual family requested relics from me, they informed me that they intended to conduct a scientific examination. They asked for my permission, which I granted. However, I did not directly contact or travel to England myself.

Q9: Did you file any official objection regarding the two letters from Buckingham Palace, which were addressed to Mr. Aung Bhone Pyae and included your name as Mr. Thura Kyaw?
Answer: No, I did not file an official objection because I believed he was keeping the letters privately. However, unfortunately, he made a public announcement about them.


Q10: Even after seeing the interview on social media where Mr. Pyae Toe Aung was holding the two forged letters, which also mentioned your name, why did you not make any argument or objection?

Answer: I did not make any objection because the letters were not created by me. They were fabricated by Mr. Pyae Toe Aung, and he is the one responsible for them.
