Identity view (sakkāya-diṭṭhi)

"To remove identity view, one needs a teacher who can explain even a single material form or mental state until emptiness (suññata) is realized. Isn't this worth considering?

When the Dhamma is lost, look within yourself. When looking within, doesn't one find the Dhamma? One must observe the aggregates. #Shouldn't_we_accept_what_the_aggregates_show?

'Hearing is covered by perception, doubt is cleared by clearing perception' - isn't this what's taught? We hear sounds, but #perception_interprets_it_as_abuse. When hearing abuse, is it wholesome or unwholesome?

When hearing it as just sound, is it unwholesome or wholesome? Consider the difference between hearing 'sound' and hearing 'abuse'.

Yoniso manasikāra means wise attention - knowing sound as sound, as impermanent.
Ayoniso manasikāra means unwise attention. #Isn't_it_wrong_attention_to_perceive_name-and-form_as_abuse? Isn't it wrong to see it as beings?

When hearing sound, #isn't_that_correct? When hearing it as abuse, isn't that wrong? That's why mindfulness when hearing is taught.

As Mogok Sayadaw teaches: Listen with the ear, but direct wisdom to the aggregates. Don't we get:
- Material form from sound
- Mental phenomena from consciousness of hearing
#Two_aspects:_mind_and_matter

When expanded, don't we get five aggregates? When #wisdom_turns_to_aggregates, do we still find someone abusing? Do we still find beings?

Why don't we find them? (Because they don't exist, Venerable Sir)
What we find is just mind and matter. Has attachment to views of beings been eliminated? Do we still find someone abusing? No. #We_only_find_mind_and_matter.

Examining these two aspects further:
- Doesn't material form change and dissolve?
- Doesn't mental phenomena arise and pass away?
Is it permanent or impermanent?

Isn't impermanence characteristic taught as Suffering Truth?
Isn't suffering characteristic taught as Suffering Truth?
Isn't non-self characteristic taught as Suffering Truth?

One needs to understand these truths.
Only through understanding can one abandon [wrong views].
When one truly knows suffering, don't misperceptions of happiness disappear?
Therefore, #understanding_the_truths_is_necessary..."
