TK-046 — Purpose
This form is used when the public misunderstands a lab method (for example: “DNA proves it,” “lab certificate proves it,” “Carbon-14 can date tooth relics,” “a scan is the same as proof”).
It helps staff write calm Q&A notes and produce a Public FAQ Sheet with safe wording.
A. What Happened (Short Intake)
Where did misunderstanding appear?
☐ In-person visitor ☐ Facebook ☐ YouTube ☐ News ☐ School talk ☐ Other: __________What method was misunderstood? (tick)
☐ DNA ☐ Carbon-14 ☐ Microscopy ☐ X-ray/scan ☐ “Lab certificate” ☐ Image analysis ☐ Other: ________Exact public claim (write the words used):
Risk level: ☐ Low ☐ Medium ☐ High

B. Internal Q&A Notes (Staff Draft)
Use short, simple sentences. Do not attack any person.
B1. Main correction message (1–2 sentences)
B2. What we can say with confidence (facts only)
B3. What we must NOT say (unsafe claims)
Tick if seen in drafts:
☐ “Science proved it is 100% Buddha.”
☐ “This test confirms the relic is real.”
☐ “This lab certificate is final truth.”
☐ “Anyone who doubts is wrong / evil.”
☐ Any statement without documents and consent.
C. Public FAQ Sheet (Ready-to-Use Text)
Title (public): Relics and Science: Simple Questions and Answers (HSWAGATA)
Intro (public):
HSWAGATA respects faith and also respects careful study. Some lab words can be confusing. This FAQ explains them in a simple way.
FAQ 1: Does a lab test “prove” a relic is the Buddha’s tooth?
Answer: Not in a full and final way. Some tests can only give limited information. A relic is also a sacred object, not only a lab object.
FAQ 2: Can DNA testing confirm a tooth relic?
Answer: Usually no. Tooth relic debates often do not have a safe and clear DNA reference sample. Also, testing can harm the relic and may not be suitable.
FAQ 3: Can Carbon-14 date a Buddha tooth relic?
Answer: Often it is not suitable. It can require sampling and it may not answer the real question in a reliable way.
FAQ 4: If we see a “lab report” online, is it automatically true?
Answer: No. Documents can be edited or taken out of context. Please check the source and look for official confirmation.
FAQ 5: What does “non-invasive” mean?
Answer: It means “no harm.” It does not remove material. It does not scrape, drill, or cut. It may include careful photos or safe scanning.
FAQ 6: What if a person says, “A lab tested it in England / Japan / USA”?
Answer: Claims need documents, clear consent, and a traceable process. Without these, it is only a claim.
FAQ 7: Does HSWAGATA support science education?
Answer: Yes. We support careful learning and honest language. We also protect the relics from harm and disrespect.
FAQ 8: How does HSWAGATA share verified information?
Answer: We share updates through official museum channels. If you are unsure, please ask staff directly.
Closing (public):
Please speak with kindness. Avoid rumours. If you have questions, contact HSWAGATA for clear guidance.
